How to check pitch correction without hiding tracking errors
Pitch correction works best on a clear single lead. Use short comparisons to distinguish intentional expressive movement from a detector following the wrong sound.

A small example to work through
Our invented four-note vocal plan is C4, D4, E4, G4, one second per note. It is a listening worksheet, not a recording, Vox export or promise that a singing voice will track correctly.
| Item | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| C4 | First second | Listen for stable centre |
| D4 | Second second | Keep transition into the note |
| E4 | Third second | Check sustained vowel |
| G4 | Fourth second | Check jump and release |

Use the blank observation and decision fields to record your own result. These downloads are planning worksheets; they do not load an app project or demonstrate a completed export.
Try it and inspect the result
- Use a clean solo recording and keep the dry original. Open Vox and select the intended scale only after checking what the singer actually performs.
- Compare untreated and treated excerpts at similar volume. Listen to note entrances and releases as well as the sustained centre.
- Test a small correction before adding harmony. If WAV export is available, play the file outside the tool and compare it with the dry source.
When the result differs
- Correction jumps unexpectedly
- Reduce reverb or background accompaniment; polyphonic material can confuse tracking.
- All notes sound rigid
- Reduce correction strength and preserve deliberate slides.
- Harmony duplicates a wrong note
- Repair lead tracking first; a harmony follows the detected lead.
What this example establishes
This note sequence is an original review exercise. Speech, breath and unvoiced consonants need different attention from held notes. The public alpha should be tested with your source rather than assumed to repair any recording.
This page supplies a worked example and a review method. It does not report a newly completed end-to-end app test. For current availability and edition details, read the Vox overview.
