How to prepare a short shared listening session
A listening room works better with a clear purpose and a small amount of material. Agree on what participants should hear and what feedback you need before joining.

A small example to work through
Our original six-minute session plan compares two short arrangements of your own track. It includes listening, a pause for observations and a second pass.
| Item | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Minute 0–1 | State question | Ask about arrangement clarity |
| Minute 1–3 | Listen to versions A and B | Use material you may share |
| Minute 3–5 | Discuss specific moments | Separate preference from timing issues |
| Minute 5–6 | Replay one passage | Record the next editing decision |

Try it and inspect the result
- Open the Sessions view in The Circle and review the room before bringing in media. Guests can join; account-specific controls may still require sign-in.
- State the question and confirm participants understand what is being shared. Review visibility: an unlisted room is not a private room.
- Use a short permitted excerpt and collect time-specific observations. Keep source files and the session notes separately; the room is not a backup.
When the result differs
- Feedback is vague
- Ask which passage and what change the listener would make.
- People hear different moments
- Check playback state and repeat a short passage rather than assuming perfect synchronisation.
- Room is unlisted
- Do not equate discoverability with access control or privacy.
What this example establishes
This agenda is an original planning example, not a room created or a synchronised playback test. The current public alpha needs a real participant check before relying on a time-critical session.
This page supplies a worked example and a review method. It does not report a newly completed end-to-end app test. For current availability and edition details, read the Sessions overview.
