How to keep a backup of browser-local creative files
Files stored in a browser need a separate recovery copy. A local organiser can make work easier to find while still depending on the same device and browser profile.

A small example to work through
Our original recovery inventory includes a poster source, a delivery image and a short audio sketch. Each needs a separately downloaded copy that opens outside the organiser.
| Item | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| poster-source | Editable original | Open in its source editor |
| poster-final.png | Delivery image | Open in an independent viewer |
| audio-sketch.wav | Source audio | Play in an independent player |
| Recovery note | Date / location / tested | Store outside the same browser |

Use the blank observation and decision fields to record your own result. These downloads are planning worksheets; they do not load an app project or demonstrate a completed export.
Try it and inspect the result
- Add a disposable sample to Locker and inspect its name and type. Before adding important work, find the available download or recovery route.
- Download a separate copy and open it outside Locker. Record where you saved it and when you checked that it was readable.
- Repeat this for important originals before changing browser profiles, clearing site data or replacing the device. Keep a second storage location appropriate to your work.
When the result differs
- File exists only in Locker
- Download and test a copy; the same browser storage is not an independent backup.
- App receiver is listed
- A declared receiver does not prove a working import. Test a small file first.
- File opens in the wrong tool
- Check file type and actual receiver support rather than forcing a mismatched handoff.
What this example establishes
This recovery inventory is a worksheet, not an automated Locker backup or a qualified cross-app transfer. Locker files are browser-local; account membership alone does not establish device synchronisation.
This page supplies a worked example and a review method. It does not report a newly completed end-to-end app test. For current availability and edition details, read the Locker overview.
